100% Prieto Picudo varietal, celebrates the terroir of three distinct regions within the appellation. From the ancient vineyards, some possibly a century old, of Villacalbiel to the clay-loam soils of Gordoncillo and the fertile lands of Grajal de Campos, each grape tells a story of resilience and character. The 2021 vintage, amidst seasonal variations, yielded grapes of exceptional quality. After careful processing and fermentation, the wine matures in French and American oak barrels for 9 months, resulting in a captivating hue with vibrant violet tones. The nose entices with a medley of macerated black fruits - blackberries, cherries, blueberries, and sloes - complemented by nuances of chocolate, coffee, and tiramisu, intertwined with spicy notes of black pepper and laurel from the venerable vines. On the palate, it's an essence of black fruit bonbon enveloped in a velvety, full-bodied embrace. It guides the culinary journey. Begin with cured beef jerky, cured tongue with olive oil, or lamb sweetbreads. Follow with a T-bone steak or Iberian pork paired with Torta del Casar.
