Wine Details
About the Wine
Crafted from vineyards planted more than a century ago, Livius Blanco represents the highest expression of white Rioja from Bodegas Alvia. After a 24-hour cold maceration, the wine is fermented and aged in new French and Hungarian oak barrels. Six months of regular bâtonnage on the lees add remarkable texture, complexity and depth while preserving freshness and elegance.
Vineyard & Winemaking
The grapes come from century-old vineyards planted in 1903 and 1907 in Rioja Alta. Harvested entirely by hand, the fruit is gently pressed using a vertical press before fermentation in new oak barrels. Extended ageing on the lees with regular bâtonnage creates exceptional richness, silky texture and impressive ageing potential.
