Enology
This flagship Ribera del Duero wine is made exclusively from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes sourced from old-vine parcels in La Horra and Hontoria de Valdearados at 850–900 m elevation. All grapes are hand-harvested and vinified traditionally. The wine is aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, with 10% undergoing malolactic fermentation in barrel, followed by two years in bottle before release—creating depth, elegance, and excellent aging potential.
Tasting Notes
A deep ruby‑cherry wine with intense violet hues. The bouquet is fragrant and complex, blending ripe black fruits (blackberry, plum), mocha, toasted spices, tobacco, and licorice. On the palate, it is full‑bodied yet balanced, featuring plush tannins, vibrant acidity, and a lingering mineral‑spice finish. Critics highlight its savory, structured character and age-worthiness.
Food Pairing
Ideal with grilled or roasted red meats, venison, and aged cheeses. Its rich tannic structure and spice make it an outstanding match for hearty dishes like lamb, paella with meat, and barbecued meats. Also works beautifully with slow-cooked umami flavors or cured meats. Lamb is a classic pairing.
